چکیده
The Jarlskog rephasing invariant parameter |J | is evaluated using one of the six Unitarity Triangles involving well known CKM matrix elements |Vud|, |Vus|, | Vub Vcb |, |Vcd|, |Vcs| and |Vcb|. With PDG2000 values of |Vud| etc. as input, we obtain |J | = (2.71 ± 1.12) × 10 , which in the PDG representation of CKM matrix leads to the range 21 to 159 for the CP violating phase δ. The CKM matrix elements evaluated using this range of δ are in agreement with the PDG CKM matrix. The implications of refinements in the input on |J |, δ and CKM matrix elements have also been studied. Recent discovery of neutrino oscillations in atmospheric neutrinos by the SuperKamiokande Collaboration [1] has not only given the first clear cut signal for physics beyond the standard model (SM), but has also triggered great amount of activity in neutrino mixing phenomena as well as in the related issue of fermion mass matrices. This has also given an impetus to study more deeply the quark mixing phenomena which have been under investigation for the last two decades. In fact, there is a need to closely examine the quark mixing phenomena in the hope that one may decipher some signal, howsoever faint, for physics beyond the SM. In the context of quark mixing phenomena, over the last two decades, several analyses have been carried out [2], some of these in the last few years [3]. The basic purpose of these analyses has been the evaluation of Cabibbo, Kobayashi and Maskawa matrix (VCKM) elements defined as,

Natural 4 zeros texture mass matrices recently proposed by Fritzsch and Xing have been investigated by including ‘non-leading’corrections in the context of latest data regarding m t and VCKM matrix elements. Apart from accommodating m t in the range 175 ± 15 GeV, |Vcb| and |Vub/Vcb| = 0.08 ± 0.02, the analysis with maximal CP-violation predicts |Vtd| = .005 − .013. Further, the CP-violating pha...

Motivated by the possibility of the low value of sin2β in the measurements of BABAR and BELLE collaborations, we have explored the possibilty of construction of reference unitarity triangle using the unitarity of the CKM matrix, the existence of nonzero CP violating phase δ and the experimental values of the well known CKM elements, without involving any inputs from the processes which might in...

Motivated by the possibility of the low value of sin2β in the measurements of BABAR and BELLE collaborations, a reference unitarity triangle is constructed using the unitarity of the CKM matrix and the experimental values of the well known CKM elements, without involving any inputs from the processes which might include the new physics effects. The angles of the triangle are evaluated by findin...

Following analogy of the ‘db’ triangle in the quark mixing case, we have constructed the ‘ν2.ν3’ leptonic unitarity triangle using the MNS matrix formulated in the tribimaximal scenario by Bjorken et al. . In particular, for the Ue3 range 0.05 − 0.15, we find Dirac-like CP violating phase δ to be around 40, indicating a 2.5σ CP violation effect in the leptonic sector. In the last few years, apa...
متن کاملProfiles of the Unitarity Triangle and CP-Violating Phases in the Standard Model and Supersymmetric Theories
We report on a comparative study of the profile of the CKM unitarity triangle, and the resulting CP asymmetries in B decays, in the standard model and in several variants of the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), characterized by a single phase in the quark flavour mixing matrix. The supersymmetric contributions to the mass differences ∆Md, ∆Ms and to the CP-violating quantity |ǫ| ar...
